Privacy

AskRank is a small website run from the United States by Charles Connelly. This page describes what the site actually does with information. It is not a legal policy from a law firm.

Free scans

When you run a scan, we store the business name, website, kind of business, city, and competitors you type in, plus the questions we ask and the answers that come back. We need that to show you the result.

We also store the IP address of the scan. We use it to limit free scans (three a day per IP) and to stay inside the daily cap. The result page gets a random link. It is not listed in the sitemap. Anyone you send the link to can open it.

A scan reads public information: the public website you name, and public pages that the answer cites. The free scan does not ask for a password.

Email

If you email charles@askrank.dev, we use that address to reply. If you type an email on a result page, we store it with that result so we can write to you about that request. We do not sell email addresses, and we do not run a newsletter from this site.

Delivery and refunds

We deliver a paid Audit + Fix within 2 business days of intake. Full refund if we can't deliver. The same terms are on the terms page.

Payments and digital products

The free checklist and the $27 playbook are sold on Gumroad. Gumroad processes that payment under its own privacy policy. The $199 Audit + Fix is paid by a link we send, or by a checkout link on this site when one is shown. AskRank does not store card numbers.

Who else processes a scan

A real ChatGPT scan is sent to OpenAI’s API with web search. When the daily ChatGPT limit is used up, a scan can use Google’s Gemini on live web results. The result page says which one ran. Those companies process the question text under their own terms.

Cookies

The public pages do not set a tracking cookie, and this site does not use a third-party analytics tool. The owner tools set one cookie after an admin sign-in. That cookie is not used on the public scan.

Deletion

Email charles@askrank.dev if you want a scan or an email address you left here deleted. We will delete it from the AskRank database. We cannot delete copies you already shared, or records held by OpenAI, Google, or Gumroad.
